EVIL EFFECTS OF ALCOHOL – Short Skit

(After a thorough practice, Sophia masters the Sahaja Yoga Meditation and since then could balance her personal and professional life much more effectively, the exercises which were practiced and performed by her and by the inputs given by some seniors, Sophia was leading a stress-free life… Even from career standpoint, she received numerous accolades and appreciation on her work…)

(One day in an office party, one of her colleagues Maria comes near her and starts conversing with her…)

Maria

Hey Sophia!!! What’s up?

Sophia

Hello!!! Maria…

(Both hug each other after which they continue their conversation…)

Maria

So have been hearing a lot about you!!! You are leading a very young team and are doing a fantastic job!!!

Sophia

Thank you, Maria!!!

Maria

This year our company has performed extremely well and the profits of this quarter has swelled up 40% compared to the previous two quarters, isn’t it right?

Sophia

Yes, you are right… we have done a fabulous job in terms of profit and customer satisfaction…

Maria

So, it’s time for party!!!

(Shouts an enthusiastic Maria after which she comes near Sophia and asks…)

Maria

They are offering alcohol too, why don’t you join us?

Sophia

Sorry Maria, not interested…

Maria

What? You don’t want to booze… As far as I remember, you used to drink a lot…

Sophia

Yes, I used too, but I am no more addicted too it. I am following a healthy lifestyle…

Maria

What? A healthy lifestyle!!! Since when you started to worry about a healthy lifestyle, previously you never used to give any heed about these things, then what happened? What made you to change so much?

(Replies a surprised Maria…)

Sophia

I started following Sahaja Meditation and since then realized how much damage I was doing to myself, drugs, alcohol and cigarettes are the most harmful materials that humans have ever come across. It not only affects you physically but even destroys one’s awareness, so my advice to everyone and to you, is to stay away from it…

Maria

Oh, come on!!! Sophia. Don’t tell me spirituality has changed your mentality, that’s what saints are advising us since ages, but no one listens to them…

Sophia

“All the saints in the world have said that alcohol is very dangerous for life. The reason is that it goes against our awareness, this is a fact, you know that after taking a drink our awareness becomes blurred or excited, it is not normal, that’s the reason they said no.”

(She continues further…)

Sophia

“Alcohol, as you know, has different variations depending on the habits of the person…alcohol is very dangerous because it finishes off your liver; it finishes off your awareness; it makes you very clumsy; your attention is fuzzy, because alcohol makes a person in such a way that he loses all his sense of discretion.”

Maria

But how can you say that? In many religions, especially Christianity, people encourage wine drinking, so how can you say that?

(Replies a Curious Maria to which Sophia replies…)

Sophia

“But it’s absolutely wrong and nonsense that Christ created alcohol. What He did was to change the water into the taste of grape juice. Alcohol is called as grape juice in Hebrew language. I mean, you can say, it is not called, but wine means alcohol as well as grape juice. But it cannot be, because instantly, you cannot create alcohol. Alcohol takes time. It must rot, rot and rot – then it becomes an alcohol…So many people, especially in Christian religion, believe that Christ sanctified wine, which is absolutely wrong. He never sanctified alcohol. He changed the grape juice into wine taste and in any way Wine doesn’t mean alcohol “

(She continues further…)

Sophia

But, we humans have specialty of degrading everything to our level!!!

Maria

But, I don’t understand why Alcohol is considered so dangerous?

Sophia

Alcoholism often reduces a person’s life expectancy by around ten years. The most common cause of death in alcoholics is from cardiovascular complications There is a high rate of suicide in chronic alcoholics, which increases the longer a person drinks. Approximately 3–15 percent of alcoholics commit suicide and research has found that over 50 percent of all suicides are associated with alcohol or drug dependence. This is believed to be due to alcohol causing physiological distortion of brain chemistry, as well as social isolation. Suicide is also very common in adolescent alcohol abusers, with 25 percent of suicides in adolescents being related to alcohol abuse.

(She continues further…)

Sophia

Alcohol can affect all parts of the body especially Brain, heart, liver, pancreas and the immune system. This can result in mental illness, Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome, an irregular heartbeat, cirrhosis of the liver and an increase in the risk of cancer, among other diseases. Drinking during pregnancy can cause damage to the baby resulting in fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. Women are generally more sensitive than men to the harmful physical and mental effects of alcohol.

Maria

I realize that it’s dangerous and I am planning to get rid of it, but I have one question, how come Sahaja Meditation is helpful in getting rid of alcohol and smoking…

(To which Sophia replies…)

Sophia

Sahaja Yoga Meditation starts with your self-realization in which you feel your innate energy called as Kundalini. The power of Kundalini is the pure desire of attaining your self- hood. I was amazed to see that it has worked even on people who were drug addicts, alcoholics and who were very immoral. But they all had intense and pure desire for self-improvement and gave up their drugs, smoking habits and alcoholism, Overnight…

Sophia

It really helped me to conquer my addiction and helped me in turn to become a better person. So, if you want to enjoy the addiction, I suggest you to try Sahaja Meditation. The bliss is eternal!!!

Maria

I will try to attend it, please help me with your center address!!!

Sophia

Sure, will do it!!!

Maria

So, can we have our lunch, please. Feeling very hungry…

Sophia

Sure, let’s head to dinner table and enjoy the food…

(Both of them leave from there…)
