Born in 1952, to Army parents, studied in convents across North India and finally finished school from St. Thomas, Calcutta, in 1969.

Completed B.A. (Hons) in Political Science from Hindu College, Delhi University, in 1972 and pursued a Post Graduation in the same subject at JNU.

About Lt. General Vijay Kumar Kapoor:

Lt Gen Vijay Kumar Kapoor, PVSM (Param Vashishth Seva Medal) -Superannuated in 2003 as the Commandant of Army War College after nearly 40 years of service in the Army. Took part in both 1965 & 1971 wars with Pakistan and was in service during the Kargil conflict.

He was awarded “Mention in Despatches” for bravery in 1965 war with Pakistan.

He was a Trustee of the National Trust of Sahaja Yoga from 2009 to 2015 and retired from the Trust in July 2015 after completing his tenure of four years (2011 to 2015) as the Executive Secretary of the Trust.

He now keeps himself busy with Sahaja Yoga meditation and self realisation programmes.
